Iraq Vets Say War Crimes Are U.S. Policy

Several members of Iraq Veterans Against the War, speaking at an event in an Upstate New York café recently, said that committing war crimes in Iraq is the unofficial policy of the U.S. Army:
"The killing of innocent civilians is policy," veteran Mike Blake said. "It's unit policy and it's [a]rmy policy. It's not official policy, but it's [what] happens on the ground [every day]. It's what unit commanders individually encourage."
Read the news report and weep at how morally bankrupt America has become.

The link didn't work for me for some reason, but I found an account elsewhere (at Daily Kos to be specific) that discusses the matter and refers to the News 10 story. My stomach is in knots. Again.

One of the most disturbing of these such stories I've ever heard came from my sister, after she spent some talking to a PsyOps soldier at a party, where he bragged about busting into houses and slaughtering entire families of so-called suspects. He bragged, my sister said. Bragged.

I hope that all the people who insist these things don't really happen are paying attention in March: http://www.ivaw.org/wintersoldier

And I just found a YouTube video of the News10 report: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwYvdyn3oRc&eurl=http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/?q=node/30287
