I have a heavy workload and am approaching a deadline right now, so I haven't had time to delve into most of the commentary on Michael Moore's new film, Sicko, about the broken U.S. health care system. It was pirated and posted on You Tube for a short while before behing pulled. It's scheduled to officially open on June 29.
But one blogger whose opinions and writing I respect got to see it before it was removed from You Tube. I think she's done a great analysis of it and the U.S. system, and she did some digging on her own to be able to compare the U.S. health care system to other major systems around the world. Go read her post—it's long. And come back here and tell me what you think.

I finally did the Random 8 Things Meme!
And, to keep things on topic, I say: I plan to see Sicko when it comes out.
I plan to see it too.
I can tell you that it is being challenged a fair bit by Canadians. While there are some very good things to say about our system up North here - which he said - he glossed over the problems, which are considerable. The truth is, health systems in both Canada and the US have some very real problems and some very real strengths, and people on neither side of the border seem to be willing to ask the hard questions and think outside the box to see if there is perhaps a way to meld our different approaches and find some durable solutions.
Editor Mom - I am looking forward to seeing this movie. However, you know that it's best not to accept anything - in writing or on the big movie screen - as fact. You have to investigate the facts for yourself. By the way, I like your Comments Policy.
I look forward to seeing what he says about the US Health Care system. God knows it has big, big problems.
