Grilled Condi for Lunch

I'm listening to the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee members quiz Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice (through MSNBC.com) about what Bush said in last night's speech on his proposed military surge/escalation in Iraq.

Pitiful. She's full of it, just as her boss is. But the senators are going after her and trying to pin her down. They're calling her on her bullshit, and they're saying they aren't going to put up the money to fund this folly.

It's about damn time.

Updated 2:23 p.m., 1/11/07: And the U.S. House is having Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Joint Chiefs of Staff General Peter Pace for dessert. Hot damn! One representative just said, "This is the craziest, dumbest plan I’ve ever heard!"

Thanks for the front line report! I heard a bit on the BBC radio tonight, in fact their lead was something about Democrats come out fighting. Music to my ears!

She sure looked quite distressed.
Peace.

Katharine--

How these people stay in power day after day is a (frightening) mystery to me. Why in the world we are not banging on the gates of the Capitol calling for their IMMEDIATE impeachment is beyond me.

Scarier still -- Condi just could be considered a serious Presidential contender some day.

Ewwww. Got the chills just typing that!!!

Peace,
Peter

How and why? Through mind games. Bush and Cheney have convinced too many Americans over the last 6 years that it's unpatriotic to dissent. They've ruled by fear, and too many—excluding folks like you and me, Peter—have fallen for it.

And by God, if Condi runs for president someday, I'll be out demonstrating against her full time. She doesn't know what the hell she's doing, and she's a yes-woman.
