A Little Professional Bragging

My name has now appeared in a second medical journal, Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications. I did a substantive ESL (English as a second language) edit of an manuscript for an orthopedic surgeon from China. Scroll down to the acknowledgments section to see my credit in the article.

See these this page and this page of my business web site for links to articles in The Permanente Journal that carry my name in the acknowledgments sections.

Very cool. I went and looked at every one, I think. As a member of Kaiser NW, it was also interesting to read the study of in-exam room computers. I think they make things way more efficient.

And, I love that your name appears just below the articles' text.

As for Kaiser, we've gotten so much from them I daresay if they were for profit, they'd take an annual loss because of us alone. Non-formulary medications, my husband's first wife's seven-year cancer episode, his hip replacement, my C-section... Zero dollars paid out except five bucks per prescription, or fifteen, depending.

Now if they could just remember how to count pills correctly we'd be satisfied. Oh wait, and if the damned pharmacist who was furious with my husband last night for pressing her about medication I'd told him was there had thought of looking (hello-o) in the safe, we'd have had a lot better weekend around here.

Of course when I called this morning someone else was able to find the stuff, but only after I prompted her to maybe look somewhere else, where Friday's pharmacist who told me he was holding the bottle in his hand at that very moment might have "hidden" them, did she even look in the safe.

Can you imagine?

Anyway, enough about me, Katherine. Congratulations, good for you.
