Katharine,

Thanks for sharing the Christmas picture.

Here's a Christmas reading from the Unitarian Universalist hymnal that I thought of when I saw it.

It's by Sophia Lyon Fahs and it's #616 in Singing the Living Tradition.

===================
For so the children come
And so they have been coming.
Always in the same way they come
born of the seed of man and woman.

No angels herald their beginnings.
No prophets predict their future courses.

No wisemen see a star to show
where to find the babe that will save humankind.

Yet each night a child is born is a holy night

Fathers and mothers -- sitting beside their children's cribs feel glory in the sight of a new life beginning.

They ask, 'Where and how will this new life end?

Or will it ever end?'

Each night a child is born is a holy night--

A time for singing,
A time for wondering,
A time for worshipping.

===================

Merry Christmas and happy holidays,
Steve

Gina and Steve, those are wonderful thoughts. Thank you. When I hold my babies—22, 11, and 4—that is holy. Each time I notice a personality trait they've inherited or think, That's my husband's face or Those are my eyes, I see the miracle of the universe. There is nothing more astounding than that the love of two people creates a new human being. And each one of the millions of human beings that loving creates is sacred.
